Porcelain inspires me on account of its transparency, delicacy and purity. I use this material to make wall objects as well as utensils such as vases, bowls and tea lights. It allows me to overcome the weight and earthiness that frequently remains in the clay, making possible a dematerialisation and spiritualisation of the objects. The pure white also contributes to this, meaning that I need to use little colour in this work, instead employing highly diverse structures.
